Acupuncture
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been practiced for centuries. It involves the insertion of extremely thin needles into very specific points in the body.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is believed that insertion of acupuncture needles into acupuncture points can stimulate qi, or energy to flow freely throughout the body along acupuncture meridians. This freely flowing energy can then promote healing for many different conditions, depending on the points stimulated.
The more Western school of thought is that the insertion of needles stimulates increased endorphin production and blood flow.
